All Acacia Creations products are non-toxic and made using recycled magazine paper and sustainably-harvested natural materials. The company recycles discarded magazines in East Africa, preventing them from being added to landfills. Their products are 100% handmade and created under fair trade agreements. Eco-friendly Palm Leaf & Shell placemats
These biodegradable placemats are made using fallen leaves from palm trees that are naturally sundried, hand-twisted and tied with sea shells collected from Bangladesh’s coast. The trees are kept alive for their leaves, as opposed to being cut down for wood. The placemats, coasters, baskets, and area rugs are handmade in rural villages of marginalized female communities striving to provide for their families. These products help sustain isolated communities and provide income for the workers.

This non-toxic, 100% handmade pillow does not use energy or fuel in the manufacturing process. Kuba Cloth is the traditional hand-woven cloth of Central Africa’s rainforest regions. Made by painstakingly weaving the bark of trees, the process is very time-consuming, and the resulting cloth is prized. Tanzanian artisans collect precious leftover fabric scraps and give them new life as patches on this stylish pillow. Marvelous Batiks provides income for Tanzanian artisans through sustainable export trade.

The Bamboo Table Runner is 100% handmade using a sustainable material, bamboo. The company does not use energy or fuel in the manufacturing process of this product. Materials are hand-collected, sun-dried, handspun and hand-woven using traditional methods only. Mali Chic provides a safe working environment and sustainable income to member artisans through local sales and international exports.

Aid Through Trade was founded by a former Peace Corps volunteer in 1993 with the belief that social responsibility can help to eliminate poverty. It became a founding member of the Fair Trade Federation In 1994, and now provides its women artisans in Kathmandu benefits such as a daily meal, yoga, eye care and retirement benefits. Revenue produced by Sophia Gradually is donated to the Peoples Trust Nederland, a nonprofit organization which works in India and Nepal to stop child sex trafficking.

They are manufactured from stones which are collected in the rivers and streams near the town of Leogane, Haiti. The naturally-formed stones are collected and carved by hand. Stone carving in Haiti began about 15 years ago as wood became scarce, and artisans needed a new source of income.

Brazilian designer Carlos Sobral’s award-winning Pop jewelry collection is made from recycled industrial waste, with environmentally-friendly packaging. At Sobral, all 160 employees receive meals, medical care and a retirement plan, all rare benefits in Brazil. Sobral also partners with the Museum of the Republic to train poor children and imprisoned women in the art of making high-fashion jewelry. Alegria, the importer, practices fair trade, and donates 100% of all after-tax profits to an organization which provides health care and schooling to Brazilian children in need.

The Molinari brothers integrate the 700-year old glass blowing heritage of the Murano artisans with the unique creativity and sensitivity endemic to the Brazilian culture. Unlike other Murano glass, this is lead- free. Using alternative energy sources to fuel their glass ovens, the Molinari brothers have reduced their overall energy requirements and have zero CO2 emissions. The 180 employees are all are trained in the ancient art of glass blowing, giving them skills to sustain themselves and their families in an area riddled with poverty. The manufacturer generously donates to not-for-profit organizations, and is certified as a leader in sustainability.

This piece is easily disassembled so the silver can be recycled, and the watch faces used for another purpose. The box manufacturer also supports sustainable forestry. More than 80% of the electricity used in manufacturing this soap comes from alternate sources, wind and water. 50% of gross profits from sales are donated to the Women's Rape Crisis Center of Vermont.

Based in Maine, Erda provides flexible work hours for employees who are raising families, and provides a supportive environment for its disabled workers.

Esque produces its recyclable glass products at its new studio in Portland, Oregon, which uses cutting-edge technology to reduce waste and gas consumption. The company built two electric furnaces which run up to 10 times more efficiently than the traditional gas furnace, and produces zero Co2 emissions. Esque also purchases wind power from its energy company.

Extasia’s jewelry collection is fashioned from used wine and water bottles utilizing a 2,000-year old glass making process. Pate de Verre, the oldest known glass making method, was developed during Greek and Roman times by pouring molten glass into a two-part mold which is split once the glass is cooled, if it is doesn’t break in the process.

USA Inspired by forests, Figs & Ginger jewelry is handmade by the husband and wife team of Elijah and Rhonda Wyman. Instead of using tap water to make its Circle Bird earrings, they collect rain water in their pickle pot. They use a minimum of 50% recycled sterling and 100% recycled packaging with soy-based inks. They have eliminated most of the chemicals in their studio in favor of earth-friendly, biodegradable alternatives.

These products are made from high levels of natural active ingredients, including organic fruit extracts that are derived from authentic and ethical harvesting, which means they are free of insecticides and pesticides.
