NYIGF seminars address color and design trends, social media, sustainability, retail strategies and more. All of NYIGF’s educational programming is presented by editors of industry trade publications or hosted by industry associations.  Check back frequently for details and registration.

NYIGF special events allow market participants to enjoy the Big Apple after-hours. NYIGF’s winter 2011 events will include NYIGF’s Night on Broadway featuring specially-priced tickets to 2010 Tony Award winning musical, MEMPHIS; Gift For Life’s “New York Experience” Party; and the 8th annual Housewares Design Awards.

Gift For Life “Party for Life"

Celebrate gift and home industry achievement, as Gift For Life presents the following individuals with awards for industry achievement:

• Marcia Miller of Mud Pie – Trail Blazer Award

All proceeds benefit DIFFA: Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS, one of the largest funders of HIV/AIDS service and education programs in the U.S., and Gift For Life’s sole charity partner. A Night on Broadway, featuring MEMPHIS

Turn up that dial! From the underground dance clubs of 1950s Memphis, TN, comes a four-time Tony-Award winning Broadway musical that bursts off the stage with explosive dancing, irresistible songs and a thrilling tale of fame and forbidden love. Inspired by actual events, MEMPHIS is about a white radio DJ who wants to change the world and a black club singer who is ready for her big break. Come along on their incredible journey to the ends of the airwaves – filled with laughter, soaring emotion and roof-raising rock 'n' roll.
Tickets, normally priced at $126.50, are specially priced at $90 for NY Market participants, with the difference being absorbed by NYIGF.

Housewares Design Awards Gala & Ceremony

Marriott Marquis, Times Square, New York City
The 8th Annual Housewares Design Awards will honor the best products in 13 categories including Tabletop, Cookware, Bakeware, Lighting, Home Décor and Outdoor Living. A special exhibit of the competition’s 65 finalists will be followed by a luncheon ceremony featuring the presentation of the Best in Category winners; the ‘Best of the Best’ Gold, Silver and Bronze winners; and the competition’s second “Green House” award winners for eco-responsive design innovation. The Awards are presented by HomeWorld Business, with educational support provided by the International Housewares Association (IHA) and sponsorship by NYIGF.
